Blueberry-Avocado Easy FroYo (or Smoothie)

Loaded with vitamins, protein, and healthy fats, this refresher requires no special equipment. other than a a blender. The avocado adds both an indescribable creaminess as well as fiber and a host of nutrients. It’ll satisfy your sweet tooth, while fueling your body, and can be made as either frozen yogurt, or for more immediate gratification, as a smoothie.


Serves: 2-3 Preparation time: 15 min., plus chilling time


FroYo Ingredients

  • 2 cups plain greek yogurt

  • 1 cup Pinwheel local blueberries (frozen)

  • 1/3 cup heavy cream - or milk substitute of choice

  • 1 medium frozen banana

  • 1/2 ripe avocado

  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract optional

Smoothie Version

  • 4-6 ice cubes

  • 1 1/2 cups Greek yogurt - plain or lime flavoured

  • 1 cup milk- or milk substitute of choice

  • 1 medium frozen banana

  • 1 cup frozen blueberries

  • 1/2 ripe avocado


FroYo Instructions

  1. Place all ingredients in blender Blend until smooth, stopping to stir mixture as needed

  2. Pour yogurt mixture into a loaf pan or tupperware. Freeze for 2-3 hours or until firm.

  3. Scoop out frozen yogurt mixture and return to blender. Blend until creamy and smooth.

  4. Pour back into loaf pan or Tupperware. Return to freezer for at least two more hours.

Smoothie Instructions

  1. Crush ice cubes in blender

  2. Add remaining ingredients

  3. Blend until smooth, stopping to stir if necessary
